Company History
Eagle auto parts was founded in 1974 as Liberty Auto Parts in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Our founder, Bert Hovenkamp, had a vision of a successful used auto parts enterprise which he built out of basically nothing. Through hard work and determination, Liberty Auto Parts became Kalamazoo’s premier used auto parts supplier. At 30 acres, Liberty had enough inventory to maintain excellent customer service and present a positive image to the public because of professional and helpful staff.

In 1995, Liberty Auto Parts branched out to include a location on East Michigan in Kalamazoo. Eagle Auto Parts, as it was then known, became the industry standard in used auto parts. This yard featured a state-of-the-art computerized inventory system, completely concrete yard surface and a newly renovated showroom to give our valued customers the exceptional service that they became accustomed to from so many years of great service from Liberty. Don’t let size fool you; with a 13 acre yard we could still offer professional service and a quality product!

1997 was a crowning year for Eagle Auto Parts. This was the year that we acquired Greenlight Auto Salvage in Three Rivers, Michigan. At 50 acres, it is one of Michigan and Indiana’s largest used auto parts complexes. We have been offering outstanding customer service and the same quality product since 1974. Eagle Auto Parts became an industry-leading ultra-clean auto parts recycler, using the latest technology and resources to offer our customers the quality that they expect while maintaining our environment by recycling vehicles as completely as possible. We not only specialize in quality late-model used auto parts, but aftermarket and re-manufactured parts as well. Eagle Auto Parts is a completely full-service facility. Let us know what you need, we do the rest.

In 2007 we expanded the complex to enter the self-service market. Wrench and Save Auto Parts, a division of Eagle Auto Parts, is a high-technology automotive recycling facility offering the customer auto parts at discount prices. Because of low overhead, we are able to pass along vast savings to you, our valued customer. By pulling your own parts, you can realize a savings of up to 90% over retail prices! Customer service and product quality are not sacrificed in any way. We still maintain the same customer satisfaction level established in 1974 by Liberty Auto Parts by offering a no-hassle guarantee on each and every part, and outstanding customer service.

So, with each year that passes we will continue to offer the same service and quality that over 35 years in the industry has shown. Eagle Auto Parts, combined with Wrench and Save, will be around for all of your auto parts needs for years to come. With history like this, why buy new when used will do?
